I work for NGC Metering - we own the power meters attached to your house, the powercos lease them off us. I'm in the office in the metering team... we're basically the go-between guys between the electricity retaillers (Genesis, Mercury etc), and the contractors (well, the big area companies that hire the contractors and techs) - the guys who do the work on faulty meters, replace old meters, confirm meter details, change configs, etc etc. It's a pretty cruisy job, I like it. Comfy office, my own desk, computer and phone (with my name on the screen!), a direct dial line etc... the hours are pretty good too.
