    Sidecars, Sidecars and more Sidecars!

Attachment 217762Attachment 217761Attachment 217760Attachment 217759Attachment 217758Attachment 217757HI there, was just down at the me Dads today and we found this album with lots of old pics of bucket chairs... One of these is us grided up on the Whangarei kart track about 18 years ago, the rest are from a race meet down in Taupo.
Some one may remember some of these rigs. I cant put more than six pics up so I'll post again with more.

I see they're all fully kitted up with the latest in protective gear for the time

Mate, we had guys in jerseys and jeans, and they were the lucky ones. I ran a couple of seasons with nothing but overalls... The machines got safer as we went along, the first rigs were rather lethal, cornering was not their friend.

#4 of 6 looks like Lusty and Biceps sidecar. If it is, that's what they put a KX500 into and thrashed round various tracks including Masterton and Wanganui I think. You could see it bend when Lusty opened it up and after most races they had to weld the chassis.

#3 of 6 might be Tony and Jills. A very sweet sidecar and very well ridden. They ran nitromethane in the engine at one Ohakea meet with the intention of running it at Wanganui later. It went pretty good but unfortunately they blew it up a day or so before Wanganui and had to run just a hot honda 125(?). Both them and Lusty came close to embarrassing a few of the bigger chairs as they were heaps quicker anywhere there was a corner.

Hi ya Mike, I had a feeling that if any one would remember some of these old girls it might be you.
Its a shame all these machines seem to have just gone by the by.
I fired up the blue rig today and once I get my front end sorted the white rig will be good to go.
Might pop in and see how Darren is getting along, I think he had half the hub sorted.
