Should I buy standard Honda pads or should I buy some generic ones from a bike shop? How much do I need to spend for some decent pads for the front brake? Keep in mind my bike is an MC19, which means it has the single disc at the front.

Genuine ones tend to be fine for most peoples applications. Sure they may not always be the cheapest, but more often than not your front rim won't end up covered in brake dust.
Don't buy generic pads off trade me/ebay because they're [mostly] shit. Get a decent brand because pads are one area where you can really notice.
Do bike brake pads have to be worn in the same way as cage pads?
They still need to be bedded in, some people will say one ride will be enough, some will say take it easy on them for the first 100km.

Do you reckon that way there is the best way to bed in pads?
Not heard of that process before to be honest, and it's pretty vague regarding applying each brake hard from 70mph. Not sure a new rider should be applying the rear brake hard at 70mph, given how easy it is to lock.
I've always just ridden a bit easier on the brakes for the initial 100km, still using them firmly but gently applying,m building the pressure up with no sudden grabbing of the lever. As I feel them bed in more I start to get more aggressive with the lever.

Pays to shop around however as you can get better prices for this stuff elsewhere.
I'm running metal gear pads and rotors - can't fault them.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
I've been told the best method to bed pads is just ride as normal.
No need for hard applications or taking it easy.
seems to have worked so far.
