Arrrgghh! Why can't I get into some govt sites????

I'm at home and I've had this problem in the past and then it seems to "fix' itself.

I use Mozilla as my web browser and we have broad band and as you may have noticed I know very little about computer stuff.

Can anyone give me advice in really basic simple steps?

I've had a similar problem once before but it seemed to come right. Now it just tells me 'the opearation has timed out'

Which sites are failing yo today?

Are you using Mozilla or Firefox? If you're using Mozilla, can I suggest that Firefox, which uses the same technology, is somewhat less bloated, prevents pop ups and seems to work really well for me?

Yep:
1. Don't bother - government sites aren't interesting.
2. Pour yourself a large drink of your choice
3. Drink it
4. Pour another one
5. Drink it
6. Do steps 2 to 5 until you stop caring about government site - or fall over!

I realise this but I can't get into any that I want to use! Sorry stressed out today www.wcc.govt.nz or www.stats.govt.nz again.
I've switched on & off our router for broad band and I've shut down & restarted my pc. Now I think I'll go get a big axe and try that on it and then run away and sulk.

So the drinking would be really helpful then - make you all creative. I passed German at school because I knew I had bugger all chance of passing it and so I went to the pub first. I got relaxed and happy and it all just flowed! Sadly that might not work in your case if you have to do lots of research!
