    Zeal servicing question

i had a wee search on here but could not find what i was after, feel free to point me in the right direction.

ok, so i have a 94 250 zeal (inline 4). the dude i bought it off said it was serviced before he bought it down in dunedin somewhere. it is almost 5,000ks since this and is time to think about getting it serviced.

i am keen to do some things myself, i.e. i would like to do the oil and filter change, and the air filter too? once these are done, if i took it to a mechanics... what do they do? i am assuming that if i do the 3 things mentioned above myself, then i am saving myself some money.

do they balance/tune the carbs or whatever every service? or would i need to state that i did/did not want it done? there is probably a 30 point check thing to do right? brake pads etc.. chain adjustment and the like.

basically, what should i expect to be done and if someone wants to approximate a price (assuming lots of things are not going to be replaced) that would be appreciated too.

Should be able to check chain tension your self, and only need carbs balanced if its not running right. Generally check for any loose bolts, even tyre wear and brake pads u should be able to see with a good light.

Service manual and do it yourself. should be close to the FZR250 which you'll find on www.FZR250.com

Get the service manaul as suggested. In it should be a service schedule that says what is meant to be done at each service interval.
