2010 Cruisin for a Cause - TAUPO

Hot off the press!

The Cruising for a Cause team have selected "Taupo Parents Centre" as our official charity for 2010. All monies raised (100%) will go towards this worthwhile cause.

The programme for the event is also taking shape. The following is confirmed;

Friday 8 October 2010

12 noon: celebrate the opening of New Zealand's newest stretch of State Highway 1 (the 16km East Taupo Aterial bypass), and join the offical possession, led by Prime Minister John Key. This is national news - get your ride on TV, and be the first in the country to drive over this new road.

6pm: Stop traffic at our night cruise through the streets of Taupo, and then park up in town and join the pre-event fun at our official bar - Plateau (with drink and meal deals for cruisers and live entertainement).

10am to 3pm: The official 2010 Cruising for a Cause. Bring your classic car, hot rod, vintage car, truck, motorbike, V8 or other interesting machine and take kids (and adults!) for a ride around the block for a gold coin donation to our charity. If you have a vehcile but done want to cruise, join the Show n Shine, and join in the fun. Commercial and trade displays, food and entertainment with all monies going to our cause!

8.30: Take a cruise to the Taupo motorsport park, and go for a cruise in your own wheels around the track!

Registrations are essential and are filling fast, so be in quick! We have entries from all around the north island, and it is shaping up to be one of New Zealand's "must do" car and bike events of the year. Share it with your firends, get your Clubs involved, and come to Taupo for the weekend (or the day).

Just looking at the registrations one month out, and see we have heaps of great cars of all types from all around the country, but relatively few bikes.

Register now, and show the country that all motoring enthusiasts can join in to have well behaived fum with a community focus!

This is the one event in NZ where all enthusiasts are welcome!

We have had a great response so far, with registrations rolling in well (we are well over the 100 mark). I just wanted to remind you that the official close of date for registrations is next Friday (1 October 2010). While we will accept late entries after that point as much as we can, to be guaranteed a place in all events you may wish to partake in, please get your registrations in as soon as possible.
