Putting a bike back on the road

Hey, appologies if there's a thread that says this but I'm unsure about the process of putting a bike back on the road. I took my bike off the road (put rego on hold) about 18 months ago due to lack of money. Now here's the complication: I accidentally let the rego expire six months ago after being on hold for a year so it'll need to be re-registered. I'm not too worried about the cost of getting it back on the road, got plenty of cash now, but I'm not sure what order things need to be done in.

AFAIK I need to do:
Get new tires after 2 years of standing
brake cert
Re-registration inspection
WOF? (I'm unclear if the registration inspection doubles as a wof)
Re-register it

If anyone could explain exactly what I need to do in what order that would be great thanks

if it's pre 89 it should be a breeze, I had one done last year and they did a WOF check, hardest part was getting proof it wasn't of interest to the police, which meant going to the cop shop and five minutes with them. This was needed as I didn't have previous rego info; you shouldn't need it

If it has only been sx months since it was on hold the plates shouldn't have lapsed. All you will need to do is get a warrant and pay the six months back reg.

I know it hangs around if the rego was active but does it if it was on hold too?

I think so. A quick call to a licencing agent should be in order to check.

the brake check and the police reports were the only things i needed to get a bike back on the road but it was a HUGE hassle! Got there in the end though.. just maek sure the paperwork is all in order.

Aside from that... if you registration is current and it lapses then you still have to pay the previous whatever till its up to date. its like the rego just keeps on going .. for a year anyhow (i thought it was 2 but apparently its a year).

so why doesnt it make sense that if your registration is on hold and expires then it goes back to being on hold? My bike is onl hold for another year. Just have to keep remmebering to do it!
