    Auckland buckets September

And then it rained. So we let those few amongst us who hadn't experienced a fully wet Mt Welington track out to entertain the crowds, while rest of us cheered from the sidelines.

Didn't get all that many what with watching some damn good racing in all classes and doing what felt like 300 wheel changes.

Always a good day at Mt welly but i bit tough with 3 wheel changes and very slippery in the rain 'A few crashes but nothing bad ,although Dave M finger looked bloody sore ,The new race format is hard with every race being so important to get that starting position so I'm very pleased with 6th on the grid and finishing 4th in both points races .

The new qualifying setup has certainly added a new level of intensity to the pelim races. Bloody enjoyable day We did 5 wheel changes on one bke before we decided to run one bike for wet and the other for dry and one change on Michelles bike.
On top of that I managed to slap a patch on a punctured tube so almost felt like more time and effort playing with wheels than riding.
    Fun day though.

    Yep definetly a great day,
I hate the wet on slicks but thanks to Henk for my first ride on a fxr and on wets how magic those wet tyres are!!

Now to talk the boss into letting me have another set of rims with wets, and maybe a fxr to go with it, you know wet bike / dry bike!!

Speaking of boss Shona thanks you for those photos, the ones I got of her were pretty blurry.
Thanks also for the puncture repair!! She thourghly herself today!!

I didn't dare ask to have slicks put back on my bike (a good thing in the end though), as I thought I might get told where they were and where to shove them.
Reminded me of our wedding day where I still had to have my hair done but the hairdresser was busy with my niece and sister, and it felt like sshe didn't have time for me (and me hoping I had time to do up the zip on the damned dress and get my nails painted - nail polish was rubbed off as walking to the ceremony hehehe - but I only cut my finger once when making the fruit salad). TMI. Over it, have a laugh, have a drink (thanks girls, went down well) and live to "race" another day lol.
Sorry, I haven't stopped laughing and chatting since we got home (oh, or drinking hehe).

    Blah

Grant, that last pic of Arron shows it really was raining, at times.
Thosse of you going out on slicks were keen. It was great that there weren't so many accidents/injuries this time out. Felt like I had it in for Tim, when flagging by the sweeper, as couple of riders went down, flag goes out, flag in, ooh, here's Tim again and another couple of riders down - yay, get to put flag out before Tim comes round again.

Was an impressive turnout considering the crap weather, but guess a lot of us were hanging out for a ride. Some good battles to watch in all the races. Great to see more new faces, and thanks to the two guys on Saturday for the entertainment.

    Next up, Roys' hill.
