    I would consider a old r series bmw. google rockerboxer and you will find a website full of customized air cooled bwm twins. mainly cafe style but some bobbers.
    they are simple to strip, frames are ok as is but also easy to hardtail, parts are available and cheap from motobins in the UK and they arrive in about a week.
    they are very easy to work on and extremely reliable. they last forever.

    google cadbike 33 for one of the nicest bobbers I have seen, this bike took about 3 years though and an incredible amount of talent.

    Yes its a baker voyeur cover,went to order one of baker and the freight to nz was $120.00us I said no thanks I will be in sturgis in 3 weeks can you take one there for me ,no probs go ask for jason so I rock on up to the baker stand and they have it there for me It was $420.00us but he gave me $25.00us discount then he told me that they have never sold one outside the united states so peety rare and I just had to have it lol.

    Yea I like sporty tanks to,but I like to ride for at least 2.30 hours before I stop so the bigger tank it is,of to the burt munro on wednesday so big tank will be good,I now just have to fix the rear tailight,number plate rego ect that exited from the bike today my good f**k u tailight is down a bank somewhere so spent all this afternoon making a new bracket to fit another tailight oh well stillhave a few days to sort it bloody custom bikes lol
