Weather forecast for Round 5 at Manfeild

I guess me taking the wheels off the Gixxer straight after Round 4 and replacing the wets with dry tyres wasn't such a good idea then? Does Kerry do tyre changes at the Friday test days, or do I need to hunt down the bike shop in Feilding?

He is usually there but maybe not first thing in the morning when you want to get started. If you find anywhere that can change your tyres for under $40 let me know. Sick of getting reamed in Palmy.

Dan. Give Luke a call at Beaurepairs, Thorndon Quay, Wellington.

See if he can sort something out with one of the local Beaurepairs stores (I think there's one in Feilding)

which has got me thinking.. how quick can you do it? from on bike to on bike I got it down to 25mins.

I've never timed it, but it is always accompanied by swearing and skinned knuckles !!
The only tips I have are:
    • If you have tyre warmers - warm both the one your removing and the one your fitting before you start
    • Use some lube on the bead.

At race meeting I pay someone to do it for me - saves the rim - saves my knuckles and saves people the agony of having to watch someone make a simple job difficult !!

I start doing it, then after they've stopped laughing, someone else usually swears at me and takes over. I'm gonna take some written instructions with me next time as I'm a spanner dyslexic.

My theory is that as long as I'm earning money, and someone is willing to take some of it to effortlessly change the tyres for me... then that is the route I'll be taking. Thanks again Kerry.
