I have their shity jacket, pants and gloves.

The first set of jacket and pants i had them replaced, because they started leaking due to rips along the stitching.

Im onto my second set now, here are the problems:

JACKET- the vent zips are not 100 percent water proof, they let in water, and willl permeate through the waterproofing layer in a downpour. Sometimes water somehow manages to find its way through the main zip. Oh and also, the first pair leaked badly in the armpits. Small showers lasting more than 5-10 mins straight will result in me gettin slightly wet.

PANTS - Water ALWAYS finds it way through the crotch area. I wear jeans under the pants most of the time and when i take them off after a decent shower, it looks like i peed myself. Not to mention the uncomfort of freezing water reaching ur balls when riding on motorway. And just last week the stitching in the leg zips of the pants came undone..

GLOVES - Waterproof my asss.... to be fair it was fine for the first 3 months. Then it started leaking like a sieve. It also became really smelly. It got to the point when it became so rancid that when my mate smelt it, he almost through up, i saw his genuine gag reflex. So i since abandoned the gloves and bought a REvit Zenith glove. HIGHLY reccomended, worth the extra money and all the problems of the strada gloves went away. THe only time the revits leaked was when i was riding through non stop torrential downpour from auckland city to Dairy flat. To be fair, nothing would of been waterproof through that.

Ok pros... i really liked the jacket in summer, good ventilation and its quite comfortable really. (untill it starts raining). It also have lots of pockets in the right places... But in terms of Pros, thats about it.

I bought the first set just before xmas last year, and swaped for the second set in april if i remmeber right. It was my first set of protective clothing, i chose strada for the price as i spent all my money on me old bike.

Would i do it ever again? HELL NO.

Maybe there are people who has good experiences with strada, but i am certainly not one of them. My next purchase will prob be leathers, and some sort of Warehouse waterproof clothing on top.

IF i were to do it all over again, id prob save up and get decent textile stuff, or go with 1-tonne gear as i have heard very good reviews.

Have the Strada Viaggioex jacket, no problems with it so far.
But I'll agree, the gloves are rubbish! They start to smell horrible and leak. The leather covering bit on the palm is also becoming unstitched. Very annoying.

Really interesting. I've got strada pants and jacket. Bloody insane for waterproofing. I have the jacket with the no flaps over the zip or anything (can't remember the name but it's for sports riding) and NO rain gets in at all. How does it do that? How? I've been caught in downpours for 2 hours (real Waikato rain, none of that Auckland dribble ) and the only place I've gotten wet is the back of my neck.

The pants I've never even remotely had water problems with but the zip zippers themselves are rubbish and I broke the end off one and 2 of the others are bent.

I ride with a guy who has the same pants and he's never had water problems either. Ridden in the same weather as me.

I've had my gear for about 3 years. He's had his pants for about the same if not longer. Both the wifes DriRider [sic] jackets (massive storm flaps), one replaced under warranty leaked like a sieve. I laughed. She's gone Tecnic now.

As for info online lone_slayer, I was never able to find a website specifically for the kit but I know motorcycle gear site had something about them back in the day.

Oh, forgot to mention, just to keep things fair and comparable, My jacket is a vaggio? or sth liek that, the shorter sportier one.

I ride a cruiser, which means there is no tank in the way to block out the rain. However sometimes a little pool of water forms on the seat next to the crotch area. sometimes the pants leak before the pool even forms.

Maybe im just extremely unlucky. When i went in to swap the first time, they said there are the ocassional bad bunch, but rare.. maybe both sets i tried were from the same bunch. My next set will no longer be strada, im sure ppl will have good luck with them, but i have unfortunately lost confidence in the brand.

Do you guys have the more touring orientated jacket? or the shorter sportier one?

And sorry forgot the answer the origional question. I tried finding a website for strada, but no luck. If you do decide to go for strada, please make sure they have a decent return or swap policy, just in case.

My first jacket was a Strada Giro from Waikato Yamaha though it was quickly replaced with leathers. Waikato Yamaha seem to carry a bit of Strada gear. Their online shop is through Trademe though they don't seem to have much Strada gear on there at the moment.

I've had no problems with my Giro jacket and it's about 3 1/2 yrs old, all the zips work and it's still waterproof, even in Westcoast rain, not that woosey waikato heavey dew stuff. The missus Giro is still going strong too.
The boys Vaggio (?) thing has zipps that don't work though and it's only about 14 months old
I would definitly buy another one

I still use my 2 year old Giro jacket and pants which I've done 20,000 or so Kms whilst wearing. They're warm, comfortable, look pretty good and were comparitively cheap. Sure I prefer my leathers for protection but when it's filthy wet or cold, the Strada gear does the job.

Had the giro jacket and matching pants for 3 years now. Done 45,000km in them all around NZ even in West Coast torrential rain. Still in excellent condition and have proven to be suitable for all riding conditions. I have found Strada gear excellent value for money. Looks good with good ventilation and liners and heaps of pockets for storing those necessary bits and pieces you take when touring.

I've tested a borrowed Giro set weeks ago on the Forgotten World Hwy and twas fine. Spent few hours in bikeshops to find something comparable (vents, pockets, liners, etc.) but find some Ixon for almost double price.

I don't want to buy leather.

Strada is comfortable for me (I'm an L-plate rider) and I get used to textile as i rode scooter for years back in Europe. I don't believe in waterproof gear, if you want dryness, you have to wear proper raingear anyway.

I intend to get my on strada set. Will see.

I have the more touring oriented one, (viaggioex, rather than the viaggio which is shorter). It's long at the back and have never had a leak. Always arrive at my destination dry as a bone (well from the waist up anyway, jeans + rain do not make for comfortable riding )

I've got some strada pants that work pretty well and are warm and comfy, they do eventually let water through after about an hour of sitting in a puddle on the seat in heavy rain, but if it's that bad I'll stick some overtrou on anyway.

They're about as good as anything else for the same price, ya gets what ya pay for.

What can I say ! I have three jackets and the Strada Giro is the worst of the three it leaks in heavy rain, takes about one hour but then in it comes...
