Nah dude...one race does not entail "losing his edge." That track (unknown too) seemed to favor riders who have had problems being competitive this year...it seems to be a track that helps even out any advantage you may have had to date in your bike setup. Lorenzo is a machine and like him or not...he is a champion deserved of the title he WILL win this year.

Rossi out before end of 2010 MotoGP season?

Valentino Rossi's poor performance in Sunday's Aragon MotoGP may prompt the Italian to withdraw from the 2010 season two rounds early.

After finishing 27 seconds behind race winner Casey Stoner on Sunday, in sixth place and as only the third best Yamaha, the nine time world champion revealed he is considering having an operation on his injured shoulder before the Estoril and Valencia events.

That means he will definitely ride at Motegi, Sepang and Phillip Island, but his results in those successive events will determine if he heads for early surgery or not. If he does it would mean a rather anticlimactic end to his seven-year Yamaha career.

There is still no news on whether Rossi will be allowed by Yamaha to test for Ducati after the Valencia race but, if Rossi senses it won't be allowed, he might feel his next best option is to get back into the best physical form as soon as possible.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

I don't just mean this race but over the last few races he hasn't had 'that little bit extra'. Considering he looked unbeatable not that long ago he has been a bit off lately and it reminds me of when the same thing happened when he was on the 250.

I still think he has the championship in the bag but all it would take is a DNF to really make him sweat!

C'mon. You are remembered for the Championship you win, not the race you win.
Lorenzo's doing what he needs to do to win the Championship.

Showing maturity - something I never thought he'd achieve.

Also this from Julian Ryder at Superbike Planet:
...He isn't laughing about his shoulder though. He had two days of severe pain after Misano and can't raise his right arm through more than 90 degrees now. The problem is the tendon that runs between the humerus and the shoulder blade. When he over-rotated the arm, the tendon was trapped between the bones and abraded. He has been trying to build up the muscle to compensate but it hasn't worked. Rossi may need surgery and will use the next six races as a test. He has to do them, he expects some pain, especially at Motegi which is very righthanded and isn't looking forward to the three races in a row in October.

Yes, I think it is bothering him more than he has been letting on.

Not the first time Dovi has cracked under pressure, he also had the faster bike but Spies retaliated the moment Dovi made a move!

I think the 6 engine rule is going to cause a whole world of hurt for whore-hay......

These last five rounds will be worth watching - that midget on his Honda is gonna steal a stack of championship points!!!!

Full credit to Honda though for running a guy that weighs 51kg .........

Somewhere or other today I read that Gorgeous George was "hoping to receive a new engine" at Motegi. Like he'd sent a letter to Santa @ North Pole and was waiting for the reindeer to bring it.

Perhaps Vale could lend him one.

Maybe he is better at making excuses than Stoner and getting away with it rather than being called on it. All the homos here that think Stoner has an excuse book better email Rossi to ask if he's nicked it. The only Yamaha not whiping his Arse is Edwards's

Seems odd that Rossi was going for the podium in his first race back...but has been getting his arse kicked since...all of a sudden his shoulder is worse?

mmmmm....maybe I should change my mind then...calling Lorenzo to crash out is a big call...but I guess some people have more experience with this topic than others eh?

Rossi has been pretty quiet about his shoulder injury. IIRC at a race before Mugello he said, "The shoulder's fine, we just can't get the set-up right" and Jerry Burgess said, "That's bollocks. The bike set-up is fine, we can see from the telemetry that he's braking earlier."

The shoulder got better for a while, but now it's flared up and got worse again. That's impossible because...?
