Boil-Up bloody simple too do well I thought so until I asked the new cook to do one (its a test of charater)

basic boil the pork bones take of heat add spuds.......
20minutes later layer kumera and pumpkin and top with watercress and cabbage simmer add doughboi's simple simple simple.......well one would thinkso

not for this clown boil the fuck out of it so it all turns to mush then wanting to add celery and courgettes WTF

so what he gave us was a pot of mush with no doughboi's

Rant over guess I'm having a salad for lunch

    Simmer, simmer, simmer.
    The secret to boilups.
A good one feeds dozens, and goes all weekend, with booze, cards, guitars, smoke, music. Rinse and repeat.

    Boil-up?

I think I'd rather eat raw celery and courgettes.

Get to know your friendly neighbourhood butcher, you will never buy meat at the stupid market ever again.

Yepper, and you can order what you want, for when you want. I made the mistake yesterday of not sorting out meat for dinner before we went out for the day, and ended up buying what looked like a couple of nice scotch fillets. What a friggen joke, really expensive just over $10 for 2 and it was crap! How disappointing, we had not had joined together meat like that in ages.

Usually cheaper than at the stupid market, and aged properly, better cuts of meat too.

Where my family come from the "boil up" is called Jigs dinner. Salt meat, with spuds/onions/carrots/cabbage all in the same pot and simmered till cooked. Make a bit of a white mustardy sauce and hey presto instant Jigs dinner and only one pot to wash.

It actually looks just as bad as boil up and tastes just as wonderful
