As in if youre not involved in racing you cant join the racing forums, you can only join the regular forums.

Don't think so at all so i'll ask it another way. Define 'involved' I went on there late night and there's a bit asking for MNZ licence number...

A place where the general public do not have any concern with. Sites like KB here are great ways for anyone to voice their opinion on anyone or anything but it is also limited too. Many racers are too scared to say what they really want to because twats on public forums are there ready to pounce on people for standing out...just for standing out!?

You are correct with all your points above but have missed THE point of this forum...it is not designed to be a public forum...it is designed to discuss the mechanics of racing without the peripheral of other issues that can be highlighted on forums such as KB.
I don't think I have missed the point really.

I have not raced in NZ for 5 years (only because I live on the other side of the world at the moment), but I still have an experienced opinion, and can remain objective, admittedly I don't often post in this section, but only because so many discussions go no where.

I actually also don't want to "poo poo" your mans club, but, jeeze guys, include the public, what needs to be kept secret.... Is there new evidence that Shaun Harris is not actually a real Ginger, and only dies his hair red "for the ladies"???????

Or do you need to discuss James Smith's love for Wallaby meat and Strawberries? ( a delicacy in Waimate)

thats all, you are still able to participate in the Racers Forum if you can somehow substantiate your "direct involvement" in the sport another way. The purpose of the forum / website is for the racing community all encompassing. There will be distributors involved in discussions on this site too as they often fund racers so by the aforementioned criteria ARE directly involved in the sport. Basically we are trying to filter out BS contributions by people who have no stake in our sport. We want to hear opinions of those who have some personal commitment to motorcycle racing and be a place where discussions can be relied upon as a "snap shot" of how we as racers feel about certain issues.
Hmmmmm, the fundamental flaw you're going to have is that for example I hold an MNZ licence. But I don't race and really dont have direct involvement but can easily verify myself. Second issue I see is this. By your reckoning that general public don't need to be involved with these behind the scenes discussions as it bears no consequence to them, I suggest you'll need to split the forums into classes because Glen Williams has no need to know what goes on in Superbike discussions. Craig has no business in 125GP racing. Jeremy's not going to be involved in F3/Superlite discussions and you need not know what's happening in Streetstock. I think the motivation is sound, but a slippery slope has been stepped on to.

LOL...it appears this very thread will end up being EXACTLY why this new forum is a great idea!

I'm not going to justify the ins and outs of why its been launched...if your keen to get involved, go ahead otherwise you can stay here in KB land (which is a great place don't get me wrong).

fair points ...but it is what it is and the general public will not be granted access to the racing only section...we have KB for that. Maybe you can convince the KR admin that you are involved enough to get access if you really want too.

so where do all the organisers, mechanics etc fit in?
sounds more like it's one of those 'lodge' things to me.
My point is while there is a bit of dribble here on an open forum most can sift through the good and the bad. People interested in getting into the sport can come in and get responses from those in the know, if they get fed shit it's usually pointed out and they're guided in the right direction.
It's open to everyone it's a scary thing having an 'elite' closed shop.
If you're are going to limit it to MNZ license holders only maybe you should also think of fitting breath testers on computers too, that might limit some of the swahili posted.

For one I'm pleased to see you all fuck off. Bitching and moaning about this and that, attacking each others view points, name calling. KB will be better off without this immature carry on that does our image no good whatsoever.

    Good riddance.

(pisstake for those that don't know, good luck with your idea, no one knows whether it is the right move or not, but at least it's being tried. I'm for anything that furthers racing in NZ)

Right on Spyda, so what about the ex top level racer's that now run teams? Riders have no rights in a team - they are like apprentices.
