Old planes and old trains... Video dump

That thread on an "amusing incedent" got me thinking. There seems to be a passion on this site held by a lot of us for planes, and by some of us for trains.

I love both, but get the bigger kick outta steam trains. So I am starting this thread for a video dump of planes, trains etc...

Here is one to get the ball rolling...this old girl is coming up a rise with a full head of steam, and her whistle is something else...its enough to put a real tingle down my spine..

I was in Blenheim last week and saw this running.... bloody AWESOME!
The bloke running the engines is Alistair Marshall... he spent months getting them going. He deserves a medal!

Yeah I think a lot of us are 'machine heads' as there seems to be interest in planes, trains, guns and even dare I say the word....cars...
I've always had an interest in anything mechanical, even more so if it has an engine!
Well, steam trains...no thread would be complete without this:

The 400hp Fletcher doesn't sound too bad, either

I wonder how big the starter motor is on that Bristol? I dare say its probably bigger than most bike engines....

Years ago a Bristol Freighter lost its cargo over Christchurch...the blardy thing crashed at the golf course by the airport...

Shit yes! I would love to have flown one of those in anger!

Mind you, there were people shooting at you, and they were VERY serious about it!

The turbine Fletcher doesn't sound as good as a 400, but I can assure you they perform better
