So I'll be leading a ride over dyers pass, to diamond harbour, turn around and go back over gebbies and stop at the taitapu pub.

I'll do a stop across the road from the wheatsheaf, diamond harbour, then finally at the taitap pub.

once again everyone is welcome to join me.
Sweet as, I'll be there so long as the Beemer passes a WOF. Will have to hurry up and get new lights connected too

Just thinking about pub food has made me hungry! 3.26am, 6 hours till breakfast ...

Yep, with all this dissention in the ranks, I might just give it a miss and take the trail bike out for a ride instead.

That and the fact that the duc will probably be still naked in the garage

Mr Net!!!! Looks like me and thee might be the only ones game enough to tackle the challenges of the summit road and around the bays. Second time this season for the summit road, how does that get to be "all the time"????
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Oh well GP, gives people a choice. Personally I enjoy the riding most on WNR so the longer twistier ride suits me.

People will have a choice on which way to go which is always a good thing and a staggered arrival at the pub will save the queues ( except far queue).
These aren't the bikes we're looking for....

Hey G, it was great fun thanks!
Glad I didn't ride tho, almost 6,500km in total I think, we literally circumnavigated the whole of both islands. Invercragill to Kaitaia. Almost bought an XL600R when I was up there too

So long as the old girl gets her WOF I'll be there tomorrow. Well, I'll probably be there anyhoo but not riding (other than going home) if I'm not legal.

Hey Neels, If you're up for a jaunt this weekend 'round the waimak (or anywhere else for that matter) I'll be keen, need to try out my new 'Im not as hard as I used to be' settings and adjustments on the DR ...

    Anyone else keen?

As a relative newcomer to the WNR and possibly at risk of being flamed for this post, could I please put in a request to those leading either or any group:
    1) Make yourself known to new people - we have no idea what you look like from your avatar.
    2) In general, I and some others think that far too much time is being wasted at the BK carpark. If we are having a group ride at 6:00pm, why can't we move off at say 6:15 instead of hanging around the carpark until after 6:30pm?

Because most wednesdays you'd be gone before I got there

There is no compulsion to turn up at 6:00, the ride is advertised as meeting then and leaving at 6:30, so if you want to roll in at 6:25 and avoid the hanging around fair enough. Some of us like to catch up with people and drool at the new bikes for a while before we ride, some don't.

If you want to know who's leading a ride ask anyone that's there, they won't bite and most people are happy to meet new wednesday night riders, and someone should be able to point you in the direction of the person you're looking for.

On point two some folks come from outside of the city, Rangiora, Kaiapoi those places, the 6:30 start gives them time to get there, just as an aside this ride has been running a few years now, experience has shown these times work.

On point one there used to be a rider briefing, everyone gathered around and it was easy to work out who was leading which ride etc, I take it this is not being done now? I cant make it often now days as working situation has altered so I am a little at a loss as to why you are having trouble identifying the leaders.

As to getting to know the folks, wander around say hi and don't like some sit on your bike, in the corner or away from the group then complain that no one interacted with you as has happened in the past. These folks are unlikely to bite, its not just up to them to meet you.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
