BK, Halswell, Gebbies, round the bays to Port and either through the tube, or Evans Pass (depending on road conditions/light) to either Speights Ferrymead or The Twisted Hop.

I intend to look at the route before and will check out Old Taitap Road while I'm near.

So that's Speights Ferrymead via Gebbies.

So if I turn up tomorrow with my bike gear, I'll get a pillion ride?

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

So rummie can borrow your bike seeing as you won't be using it?

I should be along tomorrow night, but probably minus a passenger, she thinks it's probably not a good look to be out on the bike when she's still of work on ACC

Are we going through Summit Road from Gebbies or Dyers Pass or around the Bays and go to Ferrymead via Lyttleton Tunnel? Sorry to be a pain!

Not sure, Evans looked closed 15 min ago, and I for one don't like just re chip sealed roads, its a belt drive thing. Some of the details of the exact route is made up at the last moment. We were just going to head around the bays and get to the pub before the light goes.

Oh I though it was you playing netball, shooting the hoops on the way through. You could always take the tanker through to Ferrymead, I'm sure the bikes would enjoy a top up as much as the riders as long as it's not diesel
These aren't the bikes we're looking for....

I rode the old tai tapu road tonight, couple of loose shingle spots where they are repairing the road, and most of it is under a 30kph speed restriction, but otherwise no worse for wear than a lot of other roads around the town. The cracks in the road have mostly been filled and the others are not bad IMO. Just a matter of riding to the conditions looking at the road ahead and not being stupid.
My own experiance last week around the bays was uneventfull with only a few spots where the road was broken.
So with a forcast of light showers in the evening being the only possibile thing to ba aware of....
Let it be a good night for the first ride of the season
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
