Bit of help here please from sporty types (warning - begging alert)

Look - I'm a bit of a prick, we all know that but this aint about me (well it is a bit).. I've been having a bit of a cunty time of it one way or another the last few years. never quite seemed to get back on me feet after the cancer thing and never getting the results at the gym (on the days I could manage it) etc, falling down in heaps all over the show, no energy and just walking round in a bloody daze.... Well eventually they found I was gluten intolerent... Good shit... I'm already a type 1 diabetic, went off the meat after the cancer and now i cant eat gluten... wonderful..

Still - you go through the process eh? I ended up at the dietician who promptly told me everything I had already figured out myself... But - since I'd had to take a day off anyway i thought I'd hit the gym since it was pissing down..

I was feeling pretty shit really - you know, doing the whole it's not fair etc etc.. while i was grinding away on the treadmill....

So - one of the trainers is working with this young woman... fuck me, it broke my bloody heart. Poor kid was in a bad way let me tell you, I couldnt tell if it was CP or a stroke or what but really bad and just fuggin gut wrenching to watch her struggle just to walk... I felt like a real shit head....

Anyway - I've done some digging because one of my MOST annoying traits is this getting involved thing i do...

Turns out she was a top athlete and was involved in a car accident...

now - before this goes too far, I need to clear it with her family etc etc because i dunno whats going on (yet) but Vicki and I want to kick in a few bucks plus organise a raffle etc run through the gym to get her some styley gym gears and help out - why - guilt i suppose and gratitude and because i can...

So - do any of you people work for sports goods companies that could help out with items or a discount or something???? Trainers, tracksuit, gym clothes?? shit to raffle??

This will be low key OK... But if you can help IF we get the go ahead could ya ping me a PM??

reality is that humans are all inherently selfish, and it aint till we see how really shitty things can get for others that we learn to appreciate what he have.
good onya for getting involved, a good selfless act. we could do with seeing more shit like that.

    Great gesture sir,hope it works.
Funny saying about others worse off than me is true at times, just sometimes we are allowed to feel self pity, then we(I)usually say htfu to self, others worse off(and usually are).
