    Bloody Brakes!

Am having trouble getting the front brakes sorted.

There is a significant amount of load on them all the time. Not enough to cause any serious issues but when on a stand if you spin it by hand it will only get one full rotation before stopping. I have had the calipers stripped and cleaned as thought the pistons were dirty. This has not improved the issue whatsoever.

With the calipers removed the wheel is free as a bird.

    Any ideas guys?

Leave the calliper fitted and remove the pads. Does it spin?

You may need to shim the calliper. A mounting bracket may be bent the the calliper sitting twisted relative to the disc

Are the pads free in the calliper? If the backing plate is a bit too 'neat' the pads will hang up.

Are they new pads? What have you changed recently?

Deep breaths. Relax. Apply logic and work through the options

Are the caliper floating bushes free?
These often sieze with dirt ir rust over time, thus not allowing the caliper to float and centralize the caliper upon releasing the brake, but not stopping the brake from working.
A siezed float bush can keep one pad firmly pushed against the disc giving the effect you discribe.
A good visual sign of this is uneven wear of the brake pads.
Dismantle the caliper slid pin, clean it up lube and reassemble.
This is a very commmon fault not often picked up in the first inspection on both bikes and cars.
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.

Hey guys what is "normal" for the R6? could be that there is usually a bit of brake drag
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
