    if you did they defensive driving for your car license does this affect the motorbike one as well?

    Just sat my restricted a couple of week ago and asked that question...answer yes! I had been lead to believe you had to sit a motorbike specific DDC, but no, as long as you do one. As long as you can prove you did, i.e. have the certificate you should be sweet. Check with you local AA.

    Having faced this situation (trying to use old DDC for my bike full)

    If you are under 25 the same defensive driving course (DDC) can be used to gain both classes 1 and 6 provided that you held both classes of licence when you completed the DDC. Otherwise you will need to complete another DDC (As I am having to do) as it needs to have been done within 6 months of applying for your full.

    If you are 25 or over the same DDC certificate can be used to gain both classes irrespective of what licences you held when you completed the DDC. There is no requirement to hold the restricted licence for a period of time.
