AMCC Round 1, 17 October Hampton Downs.

    Hi all,

The race committee have done an awesome job of securing two of our club rounds at Hampton Downs this season and at a price that (according to the club web site poll) was wanted.

The race programme is going to be impressive with Motards and F4 etc included

Take the opportunity and book into this series kicking of on the 17th October, bring the family. If you haven’t been to HD for a while things have improved.

    For spectators
There is an undercover area with views from the first to second corner and areas of seating in other strategic parts of the circuit. There is any number of excellent viewing areas around the circuit so take you camera.

    For racers
The opportunity to race on the countries newest circuit at club level and considered one of the most technical.
Probably not for the first round but hopefully for the 3rd (5th December) there should be garaging and power available. TBC

Check the AMCC web site for further details and entry form.

    A question:

Is it unwise to make ones First ride on a new track, a race day?

Ok, so not ideal. Of-course I would not be competitive.
But the question I'm asking myself is; Would I be a danger to other riders by not having enough knowledge of the track if I was to line up for the first race?

    Thoughts?

Many guys at HD have been in that position. My first meeting there was my first ride there.

if you get a chance, get there early and do a walk (but ask first if okay).

You will need to check with the club to see if there are any supplementary regs, but I'm sure if your within these you'll be sweet.

    Announce

Come on guys if your intention is to race can you get your entries in please.

Many of you will have no idea how many hoops have to be jumped through to put an event like this on (nor do you need to) but its fair to say we need to know how many of you are going to show up.

Last minute entrys is a tradition in bike racing but can we at least have an indication of who intends to race please. Fully aware of the 'got to wait until pay day to enter' thing.

As of last night the only confirmed grid was for sidecars!!!

We are also looking to increase our flag marshal numbers so if one of your entourage is willing and able to help please let us know, we will even feed them and put a little something in there pocket for their efforts.
