ribbed, multi coloured, chew them if you're bored :0

i've found the best hing to do is cut 5mm off the top of them - the helmet doesn't catch 'em on the way over your head.

hahaha - I said helmet and head in the same sentence

Ear plugs should not be sticking out of your ears at all - so if your having to cut them your not putting them in right. Make sure you pull back your ear lobe to straighten our the ear canel before you try and put them in.

Check out this video on how to do it the right way:

What are you - the fucking noise police?

I work in an extroadinarily noisy environment, and have a medical requirement to excellent hearing. I know how to put earplugs in properly thanks.

It's utter bullshit, at best a company spin on some obscure ruling by way of a pathetic attempt to justify in-house marketing policy.

The correct response would have been to ask for the relevant ruling to be explained by the local manager. Then explain why you're taking your annual safety budget to NZ safety.

Mitre 10 sell them in individual packaging (pairs). Places like protector safety are more geared for supply to trade or industry, hence why they are more likely to sell them by the "box lot".

Cheers for the input all, yup it'll be them not wanting to sell individual packets no more so I will simply take my business somewhere else & not to Protector Safety on that road which heads to the airport in Nelson....mind you I dont think Ive ever seen anyone else in there either.
Maybe it was a dry humour thing I missed, but he couldve had a laugh at my expense then filled me in on the real deal. Consequently I will go elsewhere & get my safety glasses , safety boots & overalls somewhere else.....

FFS. I just buy them by the box.

Its cheaper, it takes fuckin ages before you ever need to think about getting more and there's always some for a mate or mowing the lawn, using the saw bench or whatever.

    $60 for a box of 200 pairs.

I know what ya mean, its a princable thing, 1st the prick lied he should have said we want more money so that will be 60 bucks not a 10er, sorry for making life harder than it already is
which leads to the 2nd thing, increase in tax, living costs soring wages droping (for most) hell why not hit the we guy harder again, all he wants is to look after his hearing whan riding.
3rdley, yeah OSH fuck ya off at the best of times, like I said in a recent OSH thread of mine, we are breading bloody brain deads, rulls n regs are taking over common sence and the abaility to think for ones self... its the worlds "dumbing down"

*sigh* shit that was a lot of words (and typos) for this time of the morning, beter piss off to work and break a few OSH rules.
