    Starter motor won't turn OFF

I've got a mates old GN250 and I went down to take it for a ride and the task went like this:

    - Put keys in ignition and turned to on
    - Headlight didn't turn on, odd i thought
    - Choke pulled to on position
    - Depress the red engine stop button to the on position
    - Bike cranks over and starts up instantly without me touching the ignition button at all
    - Bike is running but so is the starter motor
    - Front brake lever won't engage the brake light
    - Rear brake lever will engage the brake light
    - Turn signals and horn work fine
    - Still no headlight

So i turn it off and check all the fuses I can find, all seem to be fine.

Open up the throttle switch housing and can't see any loose wires or anything, sprayed some contact cleaner on the relevant parts and am waiting to see if that has any effect. So far, no luck.

Is it likely that it's the starter motor solenoid? Could this also affect the headlight and switches?

Could there be some sneaky fuses I can't find? Or maybe i'm being a chump?

    Cheers.

Headlight is likely to be the bulb.
Brake lever/brake light is likely be be the little pin that the lever contacts. When you pull the lever in, you should hear a very quiet little click. That's the pin releasing. Give it a spray with crc.
Starter circuit - dunno. Some sort of short, maybe?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Cheers for the thoughts.

The bike had been sitting for a few weeks with dust all over it from some builders cutting Gib board nearby. It got cleaned yesterday and the battery put back in and the headlight worked at that time, so did everything else.

Could the problems all occur from this dust getting into some shit with the water from the clean and gumming up the works?

Will get out the multi meter and see if i can figure anything more out.

Well after all that, it looks like three ignition switch was partially stuck on. By pulling the switch back a little it popped out and everything was tip top again.

Weird problem and solution but maybe this will help someone else.
