Paint stripper? Mitre 10 have some stuff called "Dads" which is pretty good with house paints and varnishes. Wash the part well with water afterward.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Anodizing only works acceptably on suitable base materials. Most cast materials don't fit the criteria. Only very recently have the Japs got cunning with their casting to take some anodizing. Think you are getting it repainted.

Paint selection is only 1/2 the battle. surface preparation is likely more the issue. With a decent clean & etch prime a decent rattle can (PJ1 for example do some good engine paints) would suffice. But preparation is sooo boring & seemingly unnecessary most people never bother.

I'm like most people. which is why I'm not a painter.

You'll get a crazy finish if you acid dip and then anodise. The acid dipping will men the anodising will show the grain structure of the casting. Sounds cool, Isn't.

Why not sandblast/beadblast etc and paint/powercoat/clearcoat?

Preparation is the key to a good job . I paint stripper , waterblast , and sand any rough bits and ( hate to say it ) Harley davidson branded engine paint is good shit
I wish I was young again , I'd be heaps smarter than the 1st time I was young

Have just been told about a guy in Tuakau that is doing soda blasting. Meant to be very good and brings things up to an awesome finish.

The mate that told us about him is getting some work done there and is going to let us know how it went as I have an old Bonnie that need a shit load of polishing done on it and thought this could be a great easy solution to hours of manual labour!

Will let you know when we hear back.
