Australians earn more, live in a country that provides greater opportunities, and win most of the sports that they compete in.

But I still prefer to live and work in New Zealand.
The greatest pleasure of my recent life has been speed on the road. . . . I lose detail at even moderate speed but gain comprehension. . . . I could write for hours on the lustfulness of moving swiftly.

NZ vs AUS is generally a good natured rivalry. Both nations love to beat the other.
It adds extra spice to any encounter between the two nations.
Often brings out better performances from those concerned than if they were playing any other nation.

It is in all areas, not just sport, business, the arts, everything. (not to mention the sheep jokes!)

I enjoy the rivalry between our two nations. I don't hate the Aussies, but enjoy it when we beat them!
Nah I still stand by my comment.

We both compete saying we are better than the other - only to find out we a tiny specs on the surface.

At the end of the day India owns Aussie and the Chinese own us lol
So really this is India vs China, and we are the Pawns.

I agree, we are tiny on the world stage, but it is still great having a rivalry with Aussie. And occasionally we star.

Aussies all have weak chins. Me Mum told me that so it must be true. She oughta know - she was married to one for 500 years or so (or was that 50?)...

So really, I am a "mid-tasman mongrel" when ya think about it.

It's like siblings really - fight like fuck when together but just let any other bastard threaten our brother/sister and look out!

I got to see the final moments of last night's netball final (I shouldn't watch that stuff - too stressful!).

I thought of the above post when I saw the reaction of the Aussie players to their loss. Talk about poisoned pups...even during the medal ceremony there was no "losing gracefully" displayed.

One exception was their coach who at least was magnanimous in defeat even though she was, no doubt, seething within.

's only a game after all...
