Just on the news now, he has quit the Sea Shepard and denounced them, and admitted that the ramming of the AG was a PR stunt, ordered by Paul Watson.
I suppose that clears up any misunderstanding about that now.

Well. FFS, that is just absolute crap..glad that nobody was killed then, bad enough they sacrificed that awesome boat...bastards.

It says here the 'scuttling' was intentional, nothing about the ramming. But they way it was presented on the news made it look like the whole thing was planned.
I read about this earlier this afternoon on Kiwi Blog.

I'm quite impressed that Bethune has put himself on the line to do this. The SSCS come across as a bunch of lunatics.
The greatest pleasure of my recent life has been speed on the road. . . . I lose detail at even moderate speed but gain comprehension. . . . I could write for hours on the lustfulness of moving swiftly.

That simply isn't true. Heaps of people on here told us that the Japanese went and rammed him on purpose. I can't believe they're all idiots who couldn't figure out obvious the truth from the video![]()
Indeed he is. Either he's prepared to lie to all and sundry while carrying out these acts, or he's prepared to spread lies about SS.
On its way to the bottom, I wonder if the boat* hit any whales?
(* from whose engines I'm sure they drained all oil for proper disposal)
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
Not the ramming, as you point out below.
News != truth. Having read Pete's statement I see no evidence he is suggesting that the ramming was a stunt, just that he was told to scuttle the boat and went along with that.
But then, it looks like Either(Pete or Paul Watson) != truth, much.
A disappointing and sorry affair. No heroes in this story.
Redefining slow since 2006...
As a pr stunt to raise awareness to his cause it was a success in my opinion.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
