Sometimes even when all the lights and/or gauges work and you fill up before running out ,life can still suck ,like when the pimply faced, drooling, knuckle draggin ,dick whackin, diddle bending teenage mutant ginger pillock ( he was in a sub species all of his own ) fills your bike with fucking diesel...( I thought it was cheap )... needless to say I didnt get far

Jeez, I know that if I get more than 180km around town running, then I'm either about to switch to reserve, or haven't switched it back to the main tank from last fill up..

No lights or gauges for me..

Fark - you let someone else fill up your bike??

That would be pretty rare around here I would think.

I have yet to find out how far the duc goes on a tank, the lcd display gauge is a pretty rough guide but and light comes on at around 250k, and from there it usually takes about 17l into a 21l tank so I guess that means I should have about another 60k's left? I'd rather not find out the hard way....

My old XJ600 had a fuel gauge about as bad as the one on the duc, so pressed the little button to reset the trip when full, 300k to reserve regular as clockwork.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

When I first got my ZR250 I decided to run her dry from a full tank to find out what my range is, figured i'd just flick her onto reserve when she splutters out and be away laughing.

Alas, I had not been informed that the reserve tank was non existent as a previous owner had put an inline fuel filter in and decided to disconnect and bypass the reserve completely.

What made it worse was that I was ~5km away from the nearest petrol station on a nice hot sunny day

My trip meter is now my best friend

    The 100.07 is significant....

Take out the 10 and the . and you get 007. You'll need to ask a chap called James Bond for an answer.

Tee hee, the BB is a character for sure, but it appears to be working well now - go figure that!

yeah ..... I know , shoulda known better. To be honest ,what really pisses me off is how long it took me to realise what the problem was. I got about 1/2 a k up the road and then there was lurchin, fartin, banging and the smoke..... I actually thought for a minute that I chundered the motor..... pushed it home
