Fake Trade-Me email

If you get an e-mail claiming to be from Trade Me and saying you've won a $100 payback IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Trade Me says this:
There is a fake email circulating claiming that recipients have won a "100$ gift from Trade Me". The email includes a link prompting people to enter their credit card information).

The email was not sent by Trade Me, and the promotion is not genuine. We are in the process of having the website shut down but in the meantime please don't click it, and don't provide your credit card information.

If you have already been duped into disclosing your details, please contact us immediately.

It's a pity that when you place your cursor over the 'click here' in the bottom left hand corner the link is an Italian hosted site...

Have had the " xxx has given you feedback on TM, please click here to see it" or something close to that, turn up in my inbox. The thing is that the email addy that the inbox belongs to does not have a TM account... so in "deleted" they go. Would never open anything that is not from someone I know/expect an email from.

I've had a fake IRD one a few times, first time was 2 days after I filed my tax return too. Good thing it was the shittiest email formatting I've ever seen and it appeared to be attached to an online gaming store

The normal trademe emails I get tell you that you have lost $X's due to a success fee and you must now pay up.

At least I look at getting some money from one scammer.
