    Total loss with points.

My RX125 got very wet again and he electrics have packed up. There is no spark.
I'm going to change it from not having a battery to a total loss system and run a battery, still using the points and condensor in the bike.
At present there is a Black wire and a Green wire coming from the bike.
I'm pretty sure the Black wire is from the points and the Green is the power wire.
Would anyone know if I need to change anything in where the flywheel is? Or can I pretty much hook up the battery (through an on/off switch) to the new coil. and the Black wire to the other side of the coil. New coil is a 12V old style car coil.

    Cheers

.....not a sparky, but when my son,(he knows), and i were doing that stuff we did have to run a rectifier in there somewhere to smooth out the current...not a sparky I repeat...

Thanks for that, from what I looked at on the net I think the rectifier would be necessary if I was trying to charge the battery. I should be ready try and fire it up tonight. Fingers crossed.

Yeah hurry up & sort yer s**t out
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Getting there, have now got spark but she won't fire up. I'm thinking it's timing so
trying to find out which way adjusting the points advances or retards the spark.

Sorted, had spark, but putting the battery on the charger for a while made all the difference. She's humming now.
