Decided to stay with the Bridgestones...coz there are no 120/70 PP2ct's in the country and no ETA either...

Unfortunately the "tyre fund" account is only half full...buggrit

I like the Bridgies too Slofox, BUT I have PP2cts on the Gixxer now, and love em! The OEM 016s lasted 4500kms ish-the 2cts are at 5500kms now-front is fine-rear ok-perhaps 500-1000kms? I have a very good 2nd hand set of Pures to try next-$250 to you if you want to try them!! My track gixxer has Bridgie 002s on, and I like those a lot, but a friend on a CBR600rr has 2cts on and goes alot faster on the track[Not hard to go faster than me!!] Bottom line-you cant lose! I did note that roll in was a lot faster on the PPs than the Bridgies, and took a wee bit to get used to.

BT-016 Hmmm, maybe another tyre to consider when the PR2's wear out.

I like the PR2 but there is really no reason not to try something new.... well unless they turn out to be crap.

I'll look for PP2ct's next time I have to retyre...was a bit disappointed that the fronts are unavailable..

You'd wonder, wouldn'ya - who in their right mind would bring in a whole stack of rears but have no fronts to go with 'em..? I can say that John at Boyds was less than impressed with the situation...as was the dude at Cycletreads...

Oh well, the 016's have been fine up until now and I'm sure will be much more capable than I am anyway...(that's not that hard...)

They're good, but in a totally different class to the PR2. Don't plan on getting the same km's out of the 016!

This'll be the third set of 016's on this bike - at 15000km.

I chewed out the 016 rear in about 4500km, whereas the PR2 was 9000km with tread left. I really liked the 016 rear though, but wasn't overly keen on the front?

'Sportier' I am presuming.

I figured with the rather low annual km rate I achieved in the past 12 months I'd consider a sticky set next time and just ride faster

Either that or get my act together and more riding time - should be this summer as until EQC sort me out I won't be doing those jobs on the house

Yep-016s are much stickier than PR2s. Pr2s meant to be a good tyre however. 016s compare with ppct2s. PPct2 seem to last longer. I like both, the Bridgestone seems to give a very inspiring neutral "safe" and grippy feeling, while the PP2ct is more "tippy" and rolls into turns easily.Takes a little getting used to. The 016 "grains up" more noticeably on the track and the PP2 can get greasy if really hot, on the track[Not that I have ever gotten then that hot!!].[ Not that either of these tyres are dedicated track tyres]
