Michelin Pures

Just covered 4000k's on the Pures now,& the rear had probably 500-1000k's left on it but seeing I was in need of a service & with heading down South end of next month for Burt I decided to replace the rear with a Pilot Road 2, front looks like it's still got another 2000k's left on it which I will replace with another before heading Sth. Very happy with the all weather performance,all k's covered on our wonderfully surfaced roads with no issues.When they did move it was on damp roads through favorite twisties with pleanty of notice.Replaced the stock Pirelli Corsa III's with the Pures and they wore heaps better. Would I fit them again,most definately

Guess it could be dependent on riding style but that sounds a bit low on K's. I use the PP 2ct and got around 11000k so far and that's with a couple of track days, and it has still got plenty left.
I certainly don't ride like a Nana but maybe not full on all the time.
Bit hard to gauge unless you see how each person rides i guess.
I have no doubt thought that the Pure would be a good tire just based on my experience with the PP 2ct's.

Just changed the Rosso Corsa's on my StreetFighter, front had about 5500kms with maybe 1500km left, the rear had just over 3000kms with maybe 500 left in it.
Thought about the Pures but opted for a set of Racetecs as they were on the shelf and a good price. Will try the Pures next though seeing as you recommend them.

Looks like i'm going to get similar k's to Dazza, didn't fall instantly in love with them but they've been growing on me. Would buy another set but I think i'll go back to a Road 2 because now I think there's a 55 profile available a 190 section width which i'd like to try on the 14. Supposed to be a Road 3 on the horizon too...

I treated them with utmost suspicion, but over the last 3000kms on the road they have proven themselves in various situation:
- wet winter commuting
- wet winter backroad riding
- dry cold winter
- dry spring weather
- dry warm spring day
at slow speed as well as high speed (and I mean high).

As long as the pressure is at the right mark (for mine it proved to be 36F/42R), it feels very smooth especially at the high speeds. And the higher the speed, the lighter the bike feels.

They are much less prone to squaring off with commuting either, especially compared to Pirelli Supercorsa Pro, Pirelli Diablo Rosso, and Bridgestone BT series.
With 3000kms (including daily commuting) it is still nice and round.
The Pures wear out waay much less than these too.

The response is sticky and very predictable. In the wet winter mornings it may be a bit unsettled in the daily commuting, but I almost always can tell where it would get loose even before it did. So, top marks in there.

Only two more scenarios I haven't got a chance to test:
- track
- hot summer day.

Keen to know.

Definitely be getting a new set when mine are due, if the track test proves them worthy.

Interesting. Like many who like PP2s I couldn't get hold of one last week. Had the same problem last summer.

Anyway, bunged a Pure on, so we'll see what those slight differences feel like on the way to Burt. Completely trashed a sport attack down there last year.
