I fully believe a lot of people need to experience a near death situation. I know, even though I had an appreciation for life before, that after mine I'm thankful (to no one) that I get to set foot upon this planet for another day. To enjoy the simple things, like going for a ride, parking up next to a river and listening to the birds sing. Sounds corny, but I nearly lost even that. So now, well now I appreciate everything. Even the bad.

I just want to ask you all to take a moment, or 5 in the next little while to make sure that everyone you care about knows you care about them. Thank the people that have helped you, help people that you can.

    Not a gloomy subject

This is just a gentle prod to remind folk to make sure that the people that are important to them hear the words from you. Demonstrate you care.

Every day I make sure my kids know I love them and am very proud of them, and whenever possible spend quality time with them. It's something many of us grew up without but not something we should deny our children.

I won't leave the house without my kids (and missus of course) getting a kiss, a hug and a "Love you"

I got some serious surgery going on the 20 Oct. Your words about having no regrets is the truth. If you look at the Grim Reaper without a clear conscience then he is going to make your life a misery. I got no regrets when I go under the knife. For that I am greatfull. Take heed of Moms words. Best advice ever.

Could you tell Stephen Dawkins followers that........

yup...the occasional near-death experience tends to keep the mind aware of those little pleasantries....

(as I sit on the front bedroom deck, on a fine sunny Wednesday morning, being overpowered by the smell of the flowers from the tree next to the deck, bees buzzing, Honeyeaters flitting around the front garden, Parrots, Kookaburras and Magpies racketing in the background, gentle murmur from the wind in the bush across the road...on KB when I should be working.....it's good to just appreciate what and who you have and what's really important...)

Taking time to let your friends and family know how much you care/love is very important.
As is doing the same for yourself.

    "What is life
    If full of care
    We have not time
    To stand and stare"
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
