Will be in that neck of the woods in August 2011 so looking at the awesome prospect of being at Brno.
If you have any thoughts they would be appreciated. Specially accomodation. Nah, not tenting. Call me a woose, but 3 star or better, lol.

It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.
I have been to Brno about 8-10 times over the last 15 years and know it reasonably well. Been to the MotoGP there twice - and once hitchhiking there 15 years ago with some mad German trackdayers.
I go for business these days and stay in reasonable hotels (apart from the 15 years ago trip which was sleeping in a van at the track!)
If you have your own transport you can stay out of Brno at reasonable priced places. Don't forget also that Prague is only a few hours down the motorway and it has a heap of accommodation options too.
The city of Brno is lovely (and the women there STUNNING). The race track is about 20-30 minutes drive out though too.

AMEN to that!!!!
I have been to Brno once, but was a quick look only, on the way from Prague to Brno airport. Brno is a major city in Czech and all sorts of accomm will be available on internet.
Rent a car if you are backpacking. Check also that the circuit is open as it is private and not generally open to the public like here in NZ. We had to blag our way in.
Circuit is well signposted off autoroute between Praha and Brno.

Thanks guys.
As it seems the circuit is only about 25ks from the city accommodation should be OK. Specially as we can book pretty early. The Hotel I have checked with will refund with just one days notice.
We will have a Eurolease car and it just remains for the Aug 15 date (which would fit into our schedule) to be confirmed. Woohoo. The Talent? Nah, not interested. Now that reminds me - must pack my mirrored sunnies, haha.![]()
