Will be interesting seeing what the others bring out. But as no one has ridden the kwaka yet its impossible to tell how it will shape up against the BMW as a road bike.

Can't wait for a dyno/track shoot out! We have all seen some "power figures" posted by Kwaka before that didn't quite correlate to more power than the rest...
Haven't come that far from the Gixxer K5 in terms of oomph, with the exception of the CBR and it's stupendous torque curve.

All figures are quoted by Kumandsukme and should therefore be taken with a fucking big grain of salt.

The thing that impressed me about the S1000R, is there was far less pre-release hype regarding who's arees it was about to kick. In true BMW fashion, they slipped the thing into the market and all of a sudden you've got a bike that under promised and over delivered. Wish all the manufacturers had the same approach.

BMW claim 193 at the crank.

    http://www.motorcycle.com/manufactur...iew-88974.html

That prolly equates to about 180 at the back wheel.

Kawa claim 200 at the crank without ram air - which would increase it to (about)
    210
Not sure what ram air does to BMW?

EDIT: It depends on whether they are using metric HP (PS, 735.5 W), which are slightly smaller than British HP (745.7 W) .
Prolly better to compare in kilowatts...

I would be interested to read the road tests to see what the actual handling is like. Its all fine and well having a monster engine and fancy electronics, but if it handles like a dog, who cares?

Look how far Honda has gone (BOTY for two years) with an engine that is not high powered by any standards.

Didn't kwaka claim 200hp in 07 with ram air? I do recall 162-165hp on dyno tests? Similar to the gixxer K5.
The tests done on the S1000RR are so widely varied you don't know what to believe.

I really hope this new 10R is making that kind of grunt though, it will give Hoonduh/zuki and yammy a kick in the pink bits.
