Race with GP and IOM legends Jeremy McWilliams and Ryan Farquar at Phillip Island!!

Gardner Straight, Doohan Corner, Lukey heights, Siberia, Southern Loop, MG, Hayshed. All are defining features of Phillip Island, the best Grand Prix track in the world, and who of us doesn't want to have a crack at it some time?

If you race an NZ or Aussie spec Pre 82 Postie bike, Pre 72 Postie Bike or even a classic, your chance is right here, right now to do so.

The NZPCRA are for the 10th year sending a container to the Island Classic. This folks is the BIGGEST classic and Post Classic event in the Southern Hemisphere with 19200 spectators through the gate in 2010.

2010 saw a huge Pom team come down and Current Endurance World Champion Steve Martin set the outright old banger lap record at 1.40.1 on a GSX1100! (Josh Waters did a 1.35 a few days later on his Aussie Production Superbike spec GSXR1000...). Legends such as Robbie Phillis and Malcolm Campbell will be there also.

The drawcard events are the International Challenge races which pits the best Aussie, Kiwi and UK post classic racers.

There are a limited number of spaces left in the container (about 5-6). We get free entry, garages, Friday night function, support with the shipping and more from the circuit. We just need to get ourselves and bikes there.

Costs are usually about $700 total for return shipping and race fuel for the weekend, plus your airfares , accom (bunk in or share and you can half the cost) and international licence.
    In turn you get:
    * Practice and up to 12 races over the weekend (depending on what bike you bring)
    * up to 4 days of riding at the circuit
    * chance to become an International playboy motorcycle racer
    * The Monday morning go kart challenge

This event and the circuit in mid summer has to be ridden on to be truly appreciated, and is 3rd only in spectator numbers after the Motogp and SBK.

Also for all you guys wanting to do the Nationals, this is before the national starts - so no clashes. So beg borrow or otherwise find a bike and come!

So, don't dawdle, get your name down with this years PI co-ordinator Julie MacDonald via e-mail to julie.macclan@paradise.net.nz.

Any questions, drop a note here.

As Nike says, JUST DO IT!! You will not regret it.

Jezza McWilliams and Ryan Farquar attending!

Jeremy McWilliams -Former GP star and the last man to put a 2 stroke on Pole (at Phillip island no less!) at a MotoGP AND recent IOM legend Ryan Farquar will both be riding XR69 F1 Suziki Works replicas at the island Classic.

To give you an idea of how quick these old Buses are, Michael Dunlop lapped the IOM in a touch under 120mph at the Manx GP. Not bad for nearly 30 years old, 2 valve GS1000 engine etc.....

    These guys will be smoking.....

If you want to be part of it, see above for more details. The Kiwi postie team still has a couple of slots to get your bike there.
