    GSXR 1100 streetfighter

Just about to have a look at the one at Mt Eden. Any thoughts from any of yous out there? What is a fair price, things to look out for etc. I let you know what I think after I get back, hopefully take it for a spin.

Some pics of it on their web site.

If you are into riding fast for any sort of distance it might not be such a great idea. I know a bloke who has one, on a ride to Nelson travelling at 140-150k, he had to hide behind another bike all the time. When he did have a go at the front he never stayed there long. At Murchison he reckoned he felt like he'd ridden over 600ks. Complained of feeling like he was a sail/ windsock/ parachute. I of course was some way back and travelling at 100kmh, but the reports relayed to me a re accurate.

Don't want to stick with Yammy? I'm quite taken with the R1.

Ever notice that anyone slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?

Harden up. Back in the day nobody had fairings. And we cruised at 80 - 90 mph + (140 - 150kph). And nobody ever complained about the wind. Just tuck your head down and let it blow. Adjust your handlebars so you're sitting on the wiond at your preferred cruising speed and body position. Oh, and don't sit up when you brake from high speed .

Anyways I had a look at the bike at Mt eden. I was deeling with a guy called Mark. The bike has only been in for a week. Apparently not a crashed one that has been converted. About 35k on the clock. The biked had not been cleaned at all (this amazes me) and when started ran on 2 or 3 cylinders. So not a great first impression. Mark told me it would have to go through the workshop (he got that right). Still forgetting the overall condition looked not too bad maybe 6-7/10. So maybe once it has been cleaned up and worked on it maybe worth a punt. Certainly the conversion job seems to have been done ok.

I spent time going around the usual dealers after that having a browse. Fuck me what a lot of overpriced crap!!!!!!! I could not believe the prices being asked for some very crap looking bikes. Mind you that was sticker price, what do people think is the actual price compared to ticket price?
