No way! The coffee is already burnt to a crisp if it's instant (most beans are roasted too aren't they?), and the hot water just f*cks the milk.

Yeah but you can taste the difference if the instant coffee gets the milk last.

Black drinkers need to wait for the water to cool to 95C

Only if the milk is Soy.....
    No my beans aint roasted.....
Yes coffee is roasted, its not scorched, will not until the boiling water hits it.
Two coffees are made, one with milk in first and one with boiling water added first, they will taste different.

The beans are roasted at up to 220oC, how is boiling water going to "scorch" it? Rips my nightie when I hear somebody describing an espresso as burnt, you can't burn coffee with water. If it's over extracted then it becomes acidic, giving a sharp bitter taste which is wrongly described as burnt. Like saying spicy rather than chillie for a hot curry, cinnamon is not hot but it is spicy. Adding boiling water straight to instant merely releases more of the crap thats in it, same flavour but stronger.
The fat & lactose in milk keeps some of the molecules stuck together lessening the intensity, thats just my theory by the way.
