    So then. The perks have been scrapped, ha the petition must have worked ... but only for current MP's. All former MP's will keep on getting the perk for life WTF!!!! they're not doing anything for the country, fuckin get yer hands off the public purse... fackin rediculous

    Because any claim that they should be compensated should only apply to those who were around when the rort/perk was brought in - like early '70's. Since then, MP's wages have increased at a far higher rate than the general populace, as have their allowances.
    There is no place for ANY MP's to be able to claim subsidized travel for life! Particularly after they leave parliament!
