Actor playing biker assassin killed by security guard

Fantasy and reality sadly came together in the Philippines, when an actor playing a masked gunman on a motorcycle was killed by a village watchman.

The actor, Kirk Abella, was directed to speed away on a motorcycle with a masked rider during filming of ‘Going Somewhere’. But a concerned citizen who was unaware of the filming contacted watchman Eddie Cuizon to report the presence of armed men in his community.

Cuizon tried to accost the “assassin”. He then opened fire, fatally wounding Abella, as the actor pulled out a gun which turned out to be plastic. Cuizon will be charged with homicide and for violation of a gun ban. Watchmen are normally armed only with batons and are not allowed to carry firearms.

Many street killings in the Philippines, including those of political activists and journalists, have been perpetrated by motorcycle-riding gunmen.
