    Hi everyone (Bubbleboy)

    Hi everyone,
I received my 6L six Months ago, I have been reading through this sight pretty much every night since I got my license. I have picked up some great tips, That I think have really helped me, and made learning to ride much more enjoyable.
I even got the missus into it. I have been sharing my limited knowledge with her to keep her safe on the roads to.
I might right up some of the stuff I have learnt, hopefully to help others out.
The only problem I have had, has been tailgaters.
This Monday, me and the missus went for a nice ride. Was having a great ride, when this A-hole in a Ford Focus (CSC- 417) got right up my chuff, I mean millimeters away from my rear tire.
I did what I have read on this sight, and moved over into his line of sight. He backed off a little bit, but 10 seconds later right back where he was, this time he moved over to the left hand side of the road and pulled forward, one point I looked down and could see his bumper was parallel with my rear tire. I relised I was in a dangerous spot and gunned it, but with all the traffic in front of me, I couldn’t get far ahead.
I pulled over to the left but this knob got right back on my ass, so I just cut the power, slowed right down and stopped. He was so close he could do nothing but sit behind me as all the other cars passed by.
I got off my bike to have a talk with this bellend, whom told me I was not going fast enough (couldn’t go any faster due to traffic), and he has every right to tailgate me. I informed him of the dangerous of tailgating a bike and that if I fell off, he would go right over me, to which he replied if I can’t ride it, stay off the fucken roads.
At this point, I relised I would be ending up in jail if I keep talking to this tard, got bake on my bike, and got the hell outta there.
I over took a BMW which I sore he started to tailgate, further up the road the BMW slowed down at a Ped X to let this family cross, and he locked his brakes up trying to stop.
The biggest worry was his car has screen writing all over it, for driver training !!!!!
I went to the Henderson police station and laid a formal complaint, but I don’t think they will do much with it.
If any of you guys see this vehicle, I would give it a wide berth, and definitely don’t let him get behind you!
Anyway, I have my 6R booked at the AA Quay street for the 5th of Nov. I’m looking forward to getting that bloody L plate off !!

Sounds like you handled that situation really well.

Good on ya putting that numberplate up here, name-and-shame is much appreciated by the masses.

Best of luck with your 6R, ripping that L-shaped target off your bike is pretty damn satisfying.

I live out west, where did this happen?

My wife was hit up the rear today by a Merc. the driver was looking at her mail, my wife drives an MPV, not that small, if it was me on my baby bike I would not have got off so lightly...

It happend on the North Shore, Lake Road.
Hope your wife is okay, Seems one of the most important areass to keep your eyes on is behind you when on a bike.

I pulled my L off Today, I relised when i was typing my original post, why am i putting my life at risk for 400 bucks, I know which one I would prefer to lose.
I left a litle bit of the L under my licence plate so it looks like it snapped off,
just incase the fuzz pull me up.

Does make you wonder what to do at times. Wife is fine thanks, the car took a bit of a whack, got insurance for that though and it can be fixed the damage underneath showed how the crumple zone did its job, I guess on a bike we're the crumple zone!!

    Cool

Went and sat my restricted Today.... Passed !
I definitely noticed a difference in people’s driving without the L plate.
on the way there put the L on, had cars riding my butt, and passing me like tards.
One car jumped in the left lane raced up beside me, and tried to merge into me when he could see parked cars ahead.
Soon as it’s off, none of that crap. seems people don’t respect L platers.
seems L platers are viewed more of an obstacle then a person. Much like people on push bikes I guess.

A hearty congratulations! Well done! Now all you muppets who've been on your learners for the last 5 or 10 years, get off your butts and get your full!

It's sad to hear of your experiences, do keep us informed about your complaint. I'd suggest that if the errant idiot belonged to a company or franchise that you inform their company as well.

I looked the company up by their webiste, as I was going to inform them as
having a muppet drive around in a company car like that could really hurt a company.
But the knob head i ran into owns the company...
Do have few friends at NZ Customs, was tempted to get him on the "internal search list"
