I would assume.....
Stroud
Bugden
Shirriffs
Fitzgerald
Jones (last year)
Pretty much the top 5 would have got something for there efforts, not sure about James but he would deserve it

Any Suzuki rider in the top 3 championship get a bonus payment
I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots! ALBERT EINSTEIN
Interesting. I am of two minds. Firstly - its great to see aussie guys coming over and if you have to pay them to do so, so be it. Secondly - it would be nice to see the funds being invested in NZ riders as opposed to funding an aussie. Its nothing personal, just would rather a kiwi getting the benefits.
At the end of the day its their $$ and who the fuck am I to comment anyway.
Am looking forward to following this years nats especially the super doopers.
If you look at any national series - BSB, AMA etc. You will always find riders who aren't from that country! Don't see why NZ shouldn't be any different.
TBH, having foreign riders will help raise the profile of the competition in the countries those riders come from which can only be a good thing for the sport.
I do agree though that the nats this year will be sweet and am also looking forward to it.

To imply that anyone other than Andrew Stroud makes any money out of racing motorcycles is ridiculous sure there is some contingency bonus for top three but do you think that covers the racing expenses?? I think not, the tyre bill alone to run a competitve superbike can be upto 20k. Stroudy deserves to make what ever he makes that dude has 1 very impressive cv and if Im ever lucky enough/good enough to beat him then maybe I will try and make some coin from it if im not to late.
As for the Ozzys coming over suzuki want somebody that can run at the front and there hasnt really been anybody in NZ thats put up there hand and looked like they can it would cost 100k to build and run a SBK in NZ so I guess they want some sort of assuarnce there money/bike will be at the front.
Just my 2cents![]()
Yea i agree, that why not many run supers, i didnt say you got paid enough to spend the off season wanking around europe in a bently. Anyway what you get payed is your bussiness.
First time we've seen "serious craig" on here for awhile...ehehepersonaly i think the "stroudy is old and tired, and il win the title" craig is more amsuing.

To true big boy. Gareth got the same "pay" as the rest of us - but he totally missed out because he dosn't drink cheap beer supplied by the boss. Also, Brian would love to have young NZ riders on his team but the top riders (and yourself) are usually contracted early in the piece, and as you say a team with a lot of dollars on the line needs to be up the front or that team will end up non-existent. I believe that with our size and economy the best that top level rider's (and yourself) could hope for is for it not to cost anything personally.
Yep, not to mention they make the local blokes lift their game, which can't be all bad. You, Stroudy, James Smith and co have all had to find something extra to try and beat Robbie and Gareth, and that just filter's on down.
He was definitely lookin' tired when he'd finished riding his pushbike back into Christchurch after the Lady Wigram event leading up to the Nat's last year. The look on his face was farkin' priceless when he was kickin' back after the prize giving and Karen told him to get on his bike, haha.
But that fitness showed on the track, the old bugger could literally run rings around most of the young 'uns, and fitness doesn't cost anything either.
