Hi all another newbe (Brown Bear)

Hi got my L-plate three months ago.Went to Rider Training NZ run by Dawn and Steve.Great people learnt alot. They were the ones that told me to join this site.I have a Suzuki GN250 and i am enjoying riding it now that i feel that i have the hang of it.Used to ride Triumphs in the 70's (yes i am a oldie) before crash helmets were introduced.Never finished getting my licence then so it expired, but always enjoyed riding. So midlife crises or never grew up who knows but i am going to get my bike licence after all these years.Hope to meet a few of you as time goes by.

    Matt

Welcome aboard Matt! Don't be surprised by anything you read on KB! Mates of mine rode Triumphs back then. They were the envy of those of us who could only afford BSA's, (mine was a '51 B31), and of course the ubiquitous Matchless/AJS 500's! My next bike was a '73 T500 Suzuki so I didn't envy them after that as I was faster and more reliable... Still love the Trumpy style and sound though.

I "returned" with a '89 GSX600F in '03 but I'd had my full licence since the BSA so not a problem there.

Woohoo - another oldie. Welcome aboard and ignore the lunatics...

Bit like you myself - started out in 1969 on a 350cc 1953 Ariel "Red Hunter" ('cept it was kinda black and rust in colour...). Graduated to various bikes over time then had some time without owning a bike even though I always knew I'd get another one some day. Came back to an SV650S and now on a Gixxer sixxer...(still haven't crashed that one...).

Enjoy the site and ride safe.

Thanks for the welcome guys.Yes i am enjoying riding again after all these years.Getting used to all the mod cons on bikes today, like indicators, horn, panels that tell you what gear you are in,rev counters etc.Had a Triumph chopper as one of my bikes in early 70's.ape hangers, sissy bars, exhaust up the side of the sissy bar, chrome everywhere, metallic purple liked it so hope to buy a Harley chopper down the road abit.Nice to see the are a few oldies on here we didn't all destroy ourselves back then.

    Cheers Matt

    That's a matter of opinion...

Rode a '66 Saint around 1975. Horrible thing. They do say once you go Jap you'll never go back...I think.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Does that mean we get to ignore you, slofox?
