King Of Ruapuna Round Two with 150 Street Stock rider Alex Bowers

    PRACTISE/QUALIFING
In the morning the weather conditions were really wet and windy, to be honest it couldn't of been much worst. I was on my back up bike, which wasn't set up to my liking as my main bike was still getting fixed from my last outing And my cheif mechanic, DAD was absent. So I had to really fight the bike around the corners and also wasn't getting as much power down the straight as i nomelly do. But i put that all a side and worked with what I had and ended up 16th on the grid with a lap time of 2:24:076

    RACE ONE
The condition out on track was still very wet and dangours. I got quite a bad start as i miss jugded the start lights and almost jump started, but i made that up in to turn one as i got thourgh on the out side of about three riders. I saw that Suzuki Rider Scout Fletcher #45 had a fast pace early on so i tryed to stick in behind her as she was zooming thourgh the feild. I stayed with Scout for about three laps, but by then she had uped her pace even more and pulled a gap on me. I finnshed a excellent 6th place with a much faster lap time of 2:18.607

    RACE TWO
By now the weather had fined up and you would of thorght it was a different day. The track was also now competely dry. I got a awesome start and jumped in behind Scout again and stuck with her. Scout and I shot thourgh the feild and battled it out for 4th place. I was all over her at the dipper neally every lap and when I got thourgh on her she would strike back straight away and get me just past the finnsh line. So I knew if I got past her at the dipper on the last lap it would be enoght to get 4th. But as I put the pressure on her she made a mistake and ran wide in the hairpin on the last lap and that was the passing maneuvre to clinch 4th place. With my fastest lap of 2:04.027 on the last lap.

    RACE THREE
The conditions were still the same as race two if not better. With another great start I was around the outside in turn one to put me up 4 spots. I wasn't in a group of riders in this race as the group was about half a second in front of me. It was quite a lonely race but still at a fast pace as the group behind wasn't to far back. I competed the race in 5th place and my fastest was 2:02:935 also on the last lap.

I would like to thank Scout Fletcher for an awesome race in race two and to all my sonsers Bowers Builders, Nz Pocketbike Imports, Sportz Fotoz, Advanced Digital Design, Whyteline and especially Peter Jones from Christchurch for all the help and support you guys have given me. THANKS!

Good to see you young fellas down here from up North.
Yup, practice & race one were entertaining, I was glad I'd kept my sunnies on as my visor fogged badly so rode with it open, but it'd snap shut on entry inti T1 & had a knarly aquaplane there as well
Your getting quick young fella, might catch me next round

    Good stuff Alex.
Should be some extra coaching on hand for the streetstock riders competing at the nationals before the next round and in Jan.
You will be one of the front runners this year i am sure.
