So the inference here is that the cops "are not" out there trying to help us ......... that's the attitude what's wrong with people! IMHO

Dont forget there are many good cops out there taking a lot of crap trying to keep the peace and on average annually each taking a beating and for some even a bullet for it. Would you? I doubt it, especially without that keyboard weapon you wield so bravely.

I view them separate, cops are the few doing there job solving crimes, stoping violence etc, the ones I once was gonna join, I still have respect for these guys No doubt.
P.I.G.'s are the ones we all hate on here, the ones running extortion scams for the Govt with "speeding" fines etc & offer no real contribution to society. In no way do I condone physical abuse, but by all means fell free to let lose with the verbal abuse, they are not there to help anyone but the Govt make more money.

I have this horrible suspicion that there is an ever increasing number of impossibly stupid and damaged people out there that have created almost a parrallel society. They are not, nor will they ever be a part of the world where you get up in the morning and go to work, pay taxes, vote or insure/register your car (to name a few).

I see it everywhere. But I also see dead people.....

if you want to look at what COULD happen see Mexico, (nah that could never happen in NZ , ok from what Ive seen NZ is about 15 years behind Britain , or was pre internet , ).

All people need to be treated with dignity , and respect ,and the way western society is organised ,,with emphasis put on the individual , Im not holding my breath for a change anytime soon

I'm a volunteer ambo. I've only been in one situation that had the potential to turn nasty, luckily the crew I was with were really good at defusing things.

I fail to understand why people would threaten/hurt those who are only there to help...but then, there's none so queer as folk!

Society as a whole is increaingly violent...look at what our teachers have to put up with too!

I have a huge problem with this kind of 'poor me' generalising, and I wonder if THAT is a contributor?

It's almost like it's expected, if you come from nothing - you'll be a nothing and go no where.

I know plenty (myself included) that have grown up with take your pick: no money - broken homes, violence, abuse, foster homes, ran away from home, fall off the tracks, get back on - work arses off with no 'meaningful' qualifications and 'succeed' (what ever that means - completely subjective)

It's about attitude, self motivation and tenacity - not where you come from!!!

You can blame the Government ..the internet ...... the fact that alcohol is freely available 24/7...... the lack of employment ...and much much more..... but the truth is you should really blame yourself for allowing our society to become this way.....What happened to ......RESPECT..... the thing our grandparents got...and gave .....today's society is the way itis because we have all lost our Respect for one and other....(unfortunately this will be lost on some).

I work in an enviroment that has the potential to kick off at any time ..and sometimes does....the two things that we maintain above all else is.... that to get respect FIRST you must give it...and tell them the truth (don't wrap it in candy and feed them bullshit).

We tell the people we deal with, this is whats going to happen, nothing more nothing less, so far for the past 20 odd years it has worked the majority of the time.
