98 R1, not starting, thudding when throttle pinned, help!

Can anyone give me any hints as to what the problem could be? Bike was running near perfect one day, and two days later, I get this (youtube link at the bottom of this post). It turns over, so not an electrical problem I would say. It seems to "start up" but if I pin the throttle, all I get is this loud thumping response. When I let the throttle go, it dies.

    Recent changes:
    new TPS fitted
new/used exup valve fitted (perhaps siezed exup valve?)

I'm not the MOST mechanically minded, but I can wrench a bit. I'm in the CBD if anyone can help or suggest potential causes/solutions, would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would start with checking the HT leads and spark plugs...

Have you set up the TPS as per the manual? If not that would be your first step........

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
