Chicane on the hill at Hampton? Yes or No?

Who thinks this is a good idea? Probably somewhere around where the 'hump' is.
Morcs idea, and I think a good one. If it gets enough backing we can go to the track guys with the idea.
Or let's hear some other ideas, though we know moving the wall is probably not an option.

Hell yeah, permanent chicane. But then apparently I ride a horrible dirt bike and should find a paddock according to some.

    More corners, less straights

Good way to fuck a track, if you don't like the track or don't think it is safe then don't ride there

Where have you been the last few years? If you don't like something you're supposed to bitch and whinge about it until something is done.

Are you like... saying we should accept something?

It would certainly appear that is what most of you prefer...but bitch and whine to the right people please.
I've already told you the track approval process on the other thread so why are the auckland based riders not ringing the Area Senior Steward day and night ?
I'd be very surprised if MNZ haven't already got alarm bells ringing about HD and it's not just track management who would be involved in any alterations.

However, if you prefer to ride a mean keyboard, carry on....

I do think something should be done, I just don't think a chicane is it and I think it will ruin the track

So fuck everyone who thinks it should be a permanent option

Warning: Motor Racing (used to be) Dangerous.

The Organisers take no responsibilty for stulifying racing and lack of crowds/sponsors due to the spectacle of riders with trainer wheels, wrapped in cotton wool and parading in single file not exceeding walking pace.

In fact the candy floss barriers are so high you can only see the 'competitors' (a hangover from the bad old days - there are no winners or losers) from the bar where lukewarm low alcohol beer is availible in damp cardboard cups.

Still you can participate in a closely guided tour of the pits where you can smell the ozone (fuel too dangerous) and hear the thrilling hum of battery chargers.

The output from these 100% recycled material steeds is impressive from their totally child safe 3v systems.

Please remember that the public transport from the track departs at 2:15 so everybody is tucked up in bed by 5 o'clock

So no. No chicane. What a tool (or troll) for posting this thread

Thanks for your constructive reply. I'm guessing you'll never ride hampton being from christchurch?
If a suggestion of a way to make something a little safer upsets you so much I suggest you go back to your chainsaw juggling or whatever you get your jollies from. And if you knew me you'd know I'm far from a safety freak, I just don't like watching my friends/associates die.

If you guys don't mind, I'd like to keep the votes from those that ride/plan to ride there. Thanks.

after the hairpin create a 120 degree corner, coming onto straight you will be riding along the wall not at it.

The problem is not the hump, but the wall being too-close with no protection/bumper.
