And then Sunday was a little damp. The was however a stunning cake baked by Sarah (hope I got the name right) for the few hardy souls that braved the intermitent light showers.

It was actually quite nice and dryish with a drying track until people were about ready to ride, and then it rained, a lot, and kept raining. Good cake though and nobody crashed, I think we were all a bit paranoid about the conditions, the standing water in the esses was deep enough to get the front wheel starting to aquaplane.

Whats with the cake thing, should we be doing this in the Hawkes Bay? Are we missing something?

Yip, you're missing bloody good cake Did you see the pictures of the one she made earlier this year? The whole track, little buckets, awesomely done. I know who to contact now if needing a cake for a special occasion.

I think the most bikes out at once was 7 today. Mine even went out (I found a sucker willing to go for a ride). I almost got tempted but then saw the water roost and decided against it, so thought I should at least take some pix.

Fantastic to see a newbie (and new bike rider going out and just keep on riding, I think he was the keenest out there).

When I get wets I'll give it a go in those conditions . Well done with the photos Michelle - some serious puddles! The cake was a work of art.
