I was using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, but I've moved on to something more easier and quicker....CloneDVD2. Takes about 40 mins from wo to go for the average movie and using 4x discs, and it's a no-brainer to use.

I find NERO the best for normal burning of CD's / DVD's etc..

    Teflon - you rock!

That was the fix allright. DVD Rescue enabled me to copy the files off the DVD. Once they were on my hard drive, it was all go!

    Cheers mate.

    Nero is good.

How exactly are your sucky computer skills preventing you appreciating the fine product?

DVD Xcopy as I said before - single step only - no issue - it does the compression and writing - much easier - sound and video is kept in tact.

With Disks - remember some DVD Players won't read '-' format DVD's (this includes some high end players) and double layer is next to useless as most Players don't yet use this format (and aren't likely to given the Gigabyte and Blueray formats)

    Arrow Well.

Still available on kazaalite, along with the full set of clone cd and dvd. I'm stoked, I tried to get them a while back but could not get a download feed.

Use ANyDVD to bypass any copy protetion, zoning etc. I use CloneDVD to fit standard (dual layer) DVDs onto DVDR (single layer). DVD shrink does the same job.

I use DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and Nero.

I use DVD Decrypter to check for and remove advanced copy protection which DVD srhink cant handle (Bad sectors, RCE, etc). From memory I dont think DVD Shrink removes some of the locking as well (what stops you skipping the copyright warnings / studio logos etc on most DVD's).

DVD Shrink is great, it allows a reasonable degree of customizing how you reencode, whilst not being anywhere near as complicated and user unfriendly as say gordian knot.

Nero is hands down the best CD/DVD writing software around. It's somewhat user friendly, but has alot of depth and power if you turn off the stupid wizards and turn on some of the advanced options.
