A lot of the GT was from Kadet parts bins. A neighbour of mine in London had one, he bent it quite seriously and I stole the engine out of it to stick in my Opel Manta, which had the opposite problem. 1900cc, similar antecedence to the engine later seen here in the Torana. The Opel unit was much higher compression though, which was a problem for me later when leaded fuel became very scarce.
