I think you should scare him more with saying you feel more butch, thinking of getting a dyke haircut, shopping for some romper stomper boots and overalls, using safety pins as accessories and other such stereotypical markers.

Then just go back to riding - if he has a problem, then its him not you! And he should have realised, bikers by nature are rebellious!

Are you a sexy, 25y/o biker chick?

If so I reckon you ditch the dead weight (boyfriend) and keep being a sexy, 25y/o biker chick.

    Its hot.

The fact that I wear combat boots and jeans at least 50% of the time may possibly not assist with this...

@avgas: Umm... 'sexy' is a matter of opinion, I guess? :P

I don't think its a matter of choosing between biking and boyfriend,

its choosing between having a boyfriend who wants to control you and one that doesn't.

I couldn't be with someone who thought they had the right to tell me what I should or shouldn't be doing.

    My opinion only of course.

Yep, I know what you mean, Juzz - and this is the only time he's been anything less than okay about what I do (and I get up to some crazy stuff - he knows I can look after myself). I think he's had a sudden panic, hence why I'm trying to... smooth things over? until he gets used to the idea.

Shhh! You'll get the guy's pornographic memories going with statements like that! Your bf probably knows how he reacts when he sees other biker chicks riding about doing their own thing!

He'd be damned if he wants other biker guys to be doing that to you!

Trade him in for a new model There are heaps of biker guys out there and not that many chicks.
When I got my license, my husband was happier than I was - he ran around telling all his mates! Of course, now I have a bigger bike that he rides when he has no gas in his

Seriously, don't let some guy tell you what to do - it is a slippery slope....
and you wouldn't stop him from riding would you? Its all about respect.

Seriously, he really needs to give you a justified reason, and even then its your call not his... again obviously it will be bikes lol.

Well...in my considered opinion, after forty plus years of riding, any bike is worth much more than any boyfriend (or girlfriend as the case may be).

But then, I could be biassed...
